About Conference
Piran Days of Architecture (PDA) is an International Architectural Conference with one of the oldest traditions in the world. It evaluates current ideas in architecture. First presented in 1983 it is held every year at the end of November in the charming, medieval Slovene town Piran. The aim of the conference is to asses current trends in architecture and to present the most progressive and innovative ideas of architectural and spatial production. Many world renowned architects have lectured at the conference Wang Shu, Bijoy Jain, Eduardo Souto de Moura, Alvaro Siza Vieira, Peter Zumthor, Enric Miralles, Sverre Fehn, Kenneth Frampton, David Chipperfield among others. Several of them are recipients of prestigious international architectural awards such as Pritzker Prize, Mies van der Rohe Award, Venice Biennale Lion.PDA conference is traditionally accompanied by several architectural exhibitions. The most important is the exhibition for the international Piranesi Award.

About Piranesi Award
The conference is traditionally accompanied by the international architectural exhibition Piranesi, which presents recent works by Central European architects, created during last two years. Five works from each country – Austria, Croatia, Chec Republic, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia and Slovenia – are selected by national selectors and compete for Piranesi award. Every year the jury is composed of different members - speakers of the international architectural conference Piran Days of Architecture. The award is named after the 18th century Italian artist and architect Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720–1778), who’s family come from Piran. Piranesi exhibition is presented in one of the galleries of Mestna galerija Piran.
